Practical Christian Ministry (PCM)

At Quad Cities Christian School, we believe in the transformative power of service to others, rooted in our commitment to Christ-centered living. Our Practical Christian Ministry (PCM) program is a cornerstone of our mission to prepare students for lives of purpose and service.

In grades 6 through 8, students are encouraged to engage in meaningful service opportunities, with a requirement of 6 hours per quarter. This hands-on experience allows our students to put their faith into action, embodying the values of compassion, empathy, and selflessness. PCM activities encompass many opportunities, from volunteering within the school community as sports assistants or event support to serving in local churches as Sunday School teachers or choir members. Students may also participate in outreach programs such as AWANA, mission trips, or community service projects like the Student Hunger Drive. Engaging in PCM fosters personal growth and character development, helping students develop a deep empathy and responsibility for others.

Through these experiences, they learn to embody Christ’s teachings in their daily lives, cultivating a heart for service that extends far beyond the classroom. At Quad Cities Christian School, PCM is more than just a requirement – it’s a calling to make a difference in the lives of others and to live out the values of love and compassion exemplified by Jesus Christ. Together, we strive to build a community where service is not just a task but a way of life.

Music

Our Music Program for 6th-8th graders offers an enriching musical journey spanning the fall and spring semesters. Led by our dedicated music teacher, Mrs. Garant, students can explore their musical talents and express their creativity in a supportive and inspiring environment. Students participate in rehearsals, vocal exercises, and music theory lessons throughout the school year, preparing them for our annual fall and spring programs. These programs are the highlight of our music calendar, showcasing the hard work and dedication of our talented students.

In line with our school’s mission, our music program aims to portray Jesus in the best possible light and teach our students to do the same, regardless of their role. Whether singing in the choir, playing instruments, or taking on speaking roles, students learn the importance of sharing God’s love and spreading positivity through music. At Quad Cities Christian School, music plays a vital role in nurturing the hearts and minds of our students. Through our Music Program, students not only develop their musical abilities but also cultivate important values such as teamwork, dedication, and compassion.

Chess

At Quad Cities Christian School, we offer an engaging Chess Club experience for junior high students. Held on Mondays and Wednesdays during the first semester, Chess Club allows students to hone their strategic thinking skills while enjoying the game of chess. The primary goal of the Chess Club is to prepare students to compete in the Q-C tournaments held in October and January. Over the past five years, QCCS has achieved trophy finishes in these tournaments, showcasing the dedication and talent of our Chess Club participants. In addition to fostering a love for chess, the Chess Club promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and sportsmanship among our students.

Through friendly competition and strategic gameplay, students develop valuable skills that extend beyond the chessboard and into various aspects of their academic and personal lives. Whether students are seasoned chess players or new to the game, Chess Club offers a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can learn and grow together.
