The QCCS House System

Everyone at QCCS (students, faculty, and staff) belongs to one of three houses – Israel, Judah and Zion. Throughout the school year, the three Houses compete for the coveted House Cup. Students earn points for their House in a variety of ways: Academic accomplishments, such as earning the Eagle Award or Honor Roll, supporting QCCS’s athletic teams at games designated as “Pack the Stands” events, or participating in one of the many House competitions.

The Quad Cities Christian School House System is a dynamic, exciting, and proven way to create a positive climate and culture for students and staff. Students are celebrated for their efforts through a process that builds character, empowers academic excellence, fosters school spirit, enhances relationships and promotes a culture of belonging for all.

Three Houses, One Family

ISRAEL – THE HOUSE THAT PREVAILS WITH GOD

Israel is the House that means “one who prevails with God” or “let God prevail.” A group of people who value family more than its individual members, dedicated to their culture.and are quick to offer help to those in need. Despite their struggles and confrontations with God, House Israel understands the importance of letting God prevail in their lives.

[1] Then the LORD said to Abram, “Leave your country, your kindred, and your father’s household, and go to the land I will show you. [2] I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. [3] will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you; and all the families of the earth will be blessed through you (Genesis 12:1-3).

JUDAH – THE HOUSE OF PRAISE

Judah is the House that originates from the Hebrew name Yehuda, which means “Let him be Praised.” House Judah is a group of strong warriors, like a lion’s cub, that are known for their unconquered spirit. The house of Judah is not a house of lawgivers, but a preserver of God’s written laws. Judah is another representation of God’s perfect plan being accomplished through imperfect people.

[8] “Judah, your brothers shall praise you; your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s sons shall bow down before you. [9] Judah is a lion’s cub; from the prey, my son, you have gone up. He stooped down; he crouched as a lion and as a lioness; who dares rouse him? [10] The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until tribute comes to him; and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples. (Genesis 49:8-10 ESV).

ZION – THE HOUSE PURE IN HEART

Zion is the House that means “pure in heart”. House Zion is a group of people who are of one heart and one mind, unified. A group of believers who serve God and are a refuge and protection to those who struggle with the evils of this world.

“We will become of one heart and one mind as we individually place the Savior at the center of our lives and follow those He has commissioned to lead us. We can unite … in love and concern for one another… Unity and love for one another….. multiplied thousands of times in different ways, will ‘bring again Zion’ (Isaiah 52:8).”
