Practical Christian Ministry (PCM)

Step into the heart of service with Practical Christian Ministry (PCM) at Quad Cities Christian School! PCM isn’t just a requirement; it’s a chance for our students to make a real impact in their community. Whether it’s lending a hand at a local shelter, volunteering at a food pantry, or participating in a community cleanup, PCM is about embodying the spirit of Christ’s love through action. PCM is an opportunity for students in grades 9 through 12 to step outside themselves and serve others with compassion and humility. Plus, it’s not just about meeting a quota – it’s about making a difference that lasts a lifetime. So, let’s roll up our sleeves, dive into PCM, and together, change the world, one act of kindness at a time!
Here are some exciting suggestions to help you make a meaningful impact in your community:

  1. Get involved at school by volunteering for various roles such as sports assistant, concessions helper, sound technician for worship services, or videographer for school events.
  2. Serve as a Sunday School teacher or assistant to help guide and mentor younger students in their faith journey.
  3. Explore volunteer opportunities outside of school, such as helping at a local shelter, participating in community clean-up projects, or assisting at a food pantry.
  4. Join your church or youth choir, participate in church dramas, or join musical ensembles to share your talents and spread joy through music.
  5. Participate in youth programs like AWANA or similar initiatives organized by churches or community agencies. These programs allow you to connect with peers and grow in your faith.
  6. Consider going on mission trips sponsored by your church or other organizations to make a difference in communities worldwide.
  7. Get involved in initiatives like the Student Hunger Drive to help combat food insecurity in your community and support those in need.
  8. Volunteer for meal or food distribution programs organized by churches or community organizations to assist individuals and families facing food insecurity.
  9. Participate in extracurricular activities like 4-H, Interact Club, or Student Council projects (outside of school hours) to contribute to meaningful causes and positively impact your community.
With these suggestions, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to fulfill your PCM hours while making a difference in the lives of others!

Mission Trips

Embark on an exhilarating journey of transformation and service with Quad Cities Christian School’s Mission Trips! At the heart of our school’s ethos lies a commitment to learning and actively living out our faith through service and compassion. Each year, our students have the incredible opportunity to participate in life-changing mission trips alternating between local and international destinations.

In 2021, we ventured to the breathtaking landscapes of Lema, Peru, immersing ourselves in the vibrant culture while making a tangible impact through community projects. The following year, we turned our focus to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where we lent a helping hand to those in need within our nation.

In 2023, we returned to the warm embrace of Lema, Peru, further deepening our connections and leaving a lasting legacy of love and service. In 2024, we set our sights on Wichita, Kansas, where we continued our mission of spreading hope and joy to communities closer to home.

Looking ahead to 2025, our sights are set on South Africa, where we’ll join hands with Joshua Hannah and dive into the rich tapestry of cultures and experiences that await us. Additionally, for our high school seniors, the Catalyst program offers a unique opportunity to dive deeper into service and leadership.

National Honor Society (NHS)

The National Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Students who meet the necessary criteria and successfully complete the application process are inducted in grades 10 – 12. The QCCS chapter of National Honor Society meets monthly to discuss topics related to the four pillars, to discuss scholarships, and to plan a group service project to better the community.

Catalyst

Engaging the heart, mind, and potential students of Jesus Christ.

Catalyst is an agent of change that affects transformation without being consumed. Many student fail to recognize the potential they have to be a spiritual catalyst in the lives of those around them. Our desire at QCCS is to engage the hearts and minds of our students with the gospel of Jesus Christ so that we can then engage their potential to be catalysts of spiritual transformation on their campus, in their local community, and ultimately in the world.
